Pro Spirit 2026 gives you two ways to pitch, and the choice shapes everything else.
The payoff of the Double Tap system is the Perfect Pitch. To throw one, time your second button press so it lands just as the cursor is about to cross the inner circle.
Nail it, and the pitch comes in faster and sharper, with far less chance of missing your spot. Miss the timing, though, and the pitch loses velocity and drifts off target, which is exactly when hitters start doing damage.
This is a muscle memory skill, not a knowledge skill. Spend real time in Practice Mode drilling the timing until it becomes automatic, because in a tight spot you want to hit that window without even thinking about it.
Power Pitches add extra velocity and heat to a throw. You trigger one by tilting the right analog stick up, or holding the left analog stick in any direction, right before you start your pitching motion.
The catch is stamina. Power Pitches drains a real chunk of it and spamming them will gas out your starter well before the 5th inning. So, treat them like a finishing move.
This is where good pitchers separate themselves from button mashers. The game constantly asks you to juggle pitch type, speed, and location, and the opposing hitters will punish laziness. Keep these in mind when on the mound.

Throw two or three different pitch types from the exact same release point and target area so they look identical coming out of the hand, then let them diverge late. A common sequence is a breaking ball down and away for a called strike, followed by a similarly shaped pitch in the same tunnel that finishes somewhere completely different. A pitcher is a resource, not a machine. As stamina drops, your control slips, your velocity fades, and those corners you were painting start drifting back over the plate. Keep an eye on the meter.
