At the plate you control a bat cursor with the left stick.
Your job is to move it to where you think the ball is going to be, line it up with the incoming pitch, and connect in the sweet spot. Good hitting is really just good cursor placement plus good timing.
Watch the pitcher's release, read the pitch, and start moving the cursor early rather than reacting late.
