Mega Memories: A Blast from the Blue Bomber's Past

A small yet cherished Mega Man collection featuring PS2 gems, Xbox classics, and a cool little statue.
In a corner of my gaming space sits a small but cherished collection of Mega Man games that never fails to start a good conversation. It's not a comprehensive set by any means, but these few titles represent some of my favorite memories with the Blue Bomber.
Pixels, Plastic, and the Building Blocks
The PlayStation 2 is home to a trio of Mega Man X adventures. "Mega Man X: Command Mission" stands out as the series' unique RPG spin-off, a reminder of Capcom's willingness to experiment with the franchise. Alongside it, "Mega Man X8" showcases the later evolution of the X series, while "Mega Man X7" – well, let's just say it's there to complete the set.
Not to be outdone, the original Xbox boasts the "Mega Man Anniversary Collection," a compilation that takes me back to where it all began and is my go-to when I'm in the mood for some classic 2D action.
Watching over these games is an 11-inch blue Mega Man ceramic display. It stands at attention, arm cannon ready, looking every bit as cool as I'd imagined Mega Man would in real life. And behind it all, a Mega Man poster adds a splash of color to the wall, tying this little collection together.
Tanks for the Memories
This modest assembly might not be extensive, but hey, it's mine with each piece representing hours of gameplay, from frustrating defeats to exhilarating victories. When looking back at these games, I'm reminded of Mega Man's journey from Rock the lab assistant to the iconic hero he became, and how he's been a part of everyone's gaming life for so long.
While we may not save the world from Dr. Wily, it preserves something just as valuable to: a slice of gaming history and a chunk of my own nostalgia. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think it's time for another run through these beloved games. After all, those Robot Masters aren't going to defeat themselves.
